Assist. Prof. PhD Slavko Naskov Nikolov

He completed his higher education in 2017 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Trakia University in Stara Zagora, majoring in Veterinary Medicine. From 2018 to 2021, he was a full-time PhD student at the Department of Internal Diseases. In May 2024, he defended his PhD degree in Animal Pathology. His dissertation topic was related to diseases in wild bird species. In 2025, he began working at the University of Forestry in Sofia as an assistant in Animal Physiology at the Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Animal Science, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

He teaches lectures and practical classes in the following subjects:

– Animal Physiology
– Ethology, Animal Protection, and Welfare

Main areas of scientific interest:

– Pathology of wild bird species
– Ornithology – classification, systematics, and taxonomy of the class Aves
– Behavior, reproduction, and captive management of wild and exotic bird species
