Laboratory of Wood Science Address: Sofia 1797, 10 Kliment Ohridski Blvd., University of Forestry, Department of Mechanical Technology of Wood Head of the laboratory: Assoc. Prof. PhD Nikolay Burdarov The Wood Science Laboratory consists of two halls, which carry out a variety of wood training and research activities. The main hall (305) houses the xylotech. It contains specimens for studying the morphological structure of wood. They are two species, representing more than 50 of ours and about 30 tropical tree species. The hall has a rich collection of wood samples soaked in glycerin and prepared for microscopic examination. For these tests, the room is equipped with transmitted light microscopes. There are also various test pieces in the hall to study the physical and mechanical properties of wood. The Hall of wood defects (306) is equipped with a rich collection for the study and study of the defects of wood. Samples collected over time by students and colleagues are presented here. They allow for a wide variety of deficiencies in both round and shaped materials. Services provided by the laboratory: 3.1. Training of students 3.2. Research 3.3. Consultations 3.4.
